The summer before my freshman year of high school, I had just moved to a new city, and had no friends. I spent a lot of time reading, and one of the books I read was by Bill James, and I started making up my own baseball and basketball statistics with a Sporting News and a calculator. Six or so years later, I took a very basic course on statistics in Political Science. Multiple regression in SPSS opened a Pandora’s box of abusing statistical methods, and just as I was really getting into it, I realized that everyone else on earth was beating me to it. I’m not trying to claim credit or originality, but I wanted to start this blog, so in case I have any more ideas, I can put them here, and join the discussion.
